Skills and Experience
Responsibilities:
UX Design & Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user needs, business goals and product requirements.
- Work closely with product managers, product owners, business analysts, developers and other stakeholders to shape effective, user-centred solutions.
- Translate requirements and insights into user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
- Use research, feedback, analytics, and usability findings to inform design decisions and improve product experiences.
- Partner with developers to ensure design solutions are feasible, well understood and implemented to a high standard.
- Advocate for the user throughout the design process, ensuring user needs remain central to product and design decisions.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to maintain consistency across products, platforms and brand touchpoints.
Information Architecture:
- Define and improve the structure and organization of information within digital products and services.
- Ensure content, navigation and user journeys are clear, intuitive and aligned to user goals.
Interaction Design:
- Solve complex design challenges through thoughtful user-centred design.
- Design user flows, interaction patterns, wireframes and prototypes that clearly communicate intended experiences.
- Ensure interaction design supports usability, accessibility, and overall product quality.
Visual Design:
- Create polished, effective user interfaces that align with user experience goals and brand guidelines.
- Contribute to and help maintain reusable design patterns and systems to support consistency across products.
- Design responsive, accessible interfaces across relevant devices and platforms.
Usability Evaluation:
- Plan and conduct usability testing and other research activities to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Evaluate designs and live products based on user feedback, behavioural data and product performance metrics, then drive initiatives for optimization.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and iterate on designs to enhance usability and overall experience.
Leadership:
- Mentor and support to junior designers where appropriate, contributing to their professional growth and development within the BBD UX guild.
- Manage and mentor a team of UX designers and collaborate with other specialists within your client project.
- Support workshops, design discussions, and other collaborative sessions within the BBD UX guild to help teams ideate and refine solutions.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the BBD UX guild, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Advocate for user-centred design principles and best practices within the BBD UX guild and across projects.
- Contribute to client proposals, presentations and related collateral to assist in gaining new business for BBD.
- Help foster an environment where BBD UX guild members can grow and thrive, offering leadership, mentorship and guidance to support their career development.
Other
UX Project Management
- Manage multiple UX projects in your space simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively and meeting agreed deadlines.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define and clarify project goals, scope, and deliverables.
- Track and report on the progress of projects, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
Key Skills:
- Strong UX and UI design capability, with a good balance of problem-solving, design thinking, and visual craft.
- Ability to translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive, functional, and engaging experiences.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Confidence working with cross-functional teams and engaging with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, initiative, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Proficiency in project management and managing multiple priorities while working effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
- Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design, product design, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, problem solving approach and delivered work.
- Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma or similar.
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire confidence, motivate others and contribute positively to team success.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Familiarity with Agile, Lean UX or similar ways of working is advantageous.
- Experience in consulting, agency or client facing environments is beneficial.
