Data engineer
BBD is looking for a highly skilled and motivated data engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouses and data lake solutions for clients.

The role:
- Design and develop data warehousing and data lake solutions to support business needs
- Implement ETL processes using tools such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Matillion, SSIS, Informatica, Talend, and Ab Initio
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security by implementing data governance and quality best practices
- Optimise and maintain existing ETL pipelines for performance and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies, particularly in cloud data engineering
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Proven experience as a data engineer or similar role
- Strong experience with data warehousing and data lake architecture and technologies
- Experience in Data Vault and dimensional modelling techniques for data warehousing
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, AWS EMR, Databricks is a plus
- Experience with data streaming technologies like Kafka, AWS Kinesis is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
