The role

BBD is looking for a content strategist / copywriter to join our internal Marketing team and assist with copywriting, editing, digital media and content strategising, campaign ideation and reporting. Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and editing a variety of marketing collateral for various mediums including web, magazine, print, press and business-centric communications
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop relevant content and thought leadership to profile the brand and maintain its leading industry voice
  • Assisting in defining the marketing and communication strategy, aligned to business objectives, and execute thereon
  • Creating content for various social media platforms in line with various business objectives, tracking the performance thereof and using the gathered data to inform future strategic approaches
  • Monitoring social media platforms and reporting monthly on their performance as well as that of various concurrently running digital campaigns
  • Tracking and implementing relevant digital marketing trends and best practices, in line with overall strategic objectives
  • Researching industry-related subject matter to gain and maintain a fulsome understanding of ICT sector developments
  • Briefing and collaborating with graphic designers
  • Content planning, budgeting and community management
  • Reporting on overall content marketing performance


  • A degree in marketing, communications, linguistics, language practice or related
  • Solid experience (3 to 5 years) in a copywriter / content creator role
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, presentation and people skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • A keen eye for detail
  • A team player
  • A passion for content marketing and using content to drive brand awareness and generate business opportunities
  • Knowledge of all major social media platforms, as well as Google Ads and Analytics
  • Knowledge of B2B and B2C digital marketing approaches
  • Highly creative and curious out of the box thinker with a knack for strategy
